CUSAT School of Engineering second best engineering college in Kerala

Abstract

News item appeared in the New Indian Express daily about the ranking of engineering colleges in Kerala. The School of Engineering (SOE) under the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) has been ranked second among the engineering colleges in Kerala, in the 'EDU-RAND Ranking of Engineering Colleges in the Country' that was released in June. With an all-India ranking of 86, SOE is one of the two institutions that have found a place in the list of the top 100 engineering colleges in the country. The other institution from Kerala in the list is National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kozhikode, which stands at the 35th position. Government engineering colleges in Kerala dominate the list. Interestingly, none of the self-financing private engineering colleges in the State, which boast of high academic standards and student amenities, have been included in the 'first-100' list.
