| Abstract: | ssociation rules are one of the most researched areas of data mining and have recently received much attention from the database community. They have proven to be quite useful in the marketing and retail communities as well as other more diverse fields. Association mining task is to discover a set of attributes shared among a large number of objects in a given database. There are many potential application areas for association rule technology which include catalog design, store layout, customer segmentation, telecommunication alarm diagnosis, and so on. One of the important problems in data mining is discovering association rules from databases of transactions where each transaction consists of a set of items. The most time consuming operation in this discovery process is the computation of the frequency of the occurrences of interesting subset of items in the database of transactions |
